This mini-track focuses on behavioral, organizational, and technical issues related to information quality in organizational information systems.
Most organizational information systems suffer from information quality problems. As organizations are increasingly dependent on information systems for support of organizational functions, information quality problems may pose serious problems for organizations. In general, both technical and behavioral approaches to improving information quality problems have been found to be useful, although problems remain in most organizations.
This mini-track will focus on ways to better understand and address information quality problems in organizational information systems. The mini-track will emphasize approaches to system design that ensure high quality information, behavioral issues in the use of information systems with information quality problems, and managerial issues in the design and use of systems with information quality problems. Papers addressing information quality problems and solutions associated with web-based information systems are particularly encouraged. Studies applying theoretical perspectives from psychology, artificial intelligence, management science, and organizational science are sought. Organizational case studies involving solutions to information quality problems are also welcome. While the mini-track welcomes papers focusing on global issues in information quality, papers addressing problems situated in Latin America are especially welcome.
