Lesson #1: Who's Who Board

Procedure:

After greeting child and giving him/her time to get familiar with the classroom,
ask him to pick a favorite area or spot to stand in classroom.

Show him the digital camera. Tell him what it is. "This is
a digital camera that can be used with our classroom computer."

Take child's photograph.

Show him the viewing window on back of the camera. Tell him what
it is.

Examine and discuss child's photograph. "How do you like this picture?
Are your eyes open? Are you smiling?"

Retake the picture if necessary. Show child how pictures can be deleted
by selecting the trash can on the menu.

Once all the children have been photographed, connect the camera to the
classroom computer and transfer photos.

Show children their phtotographs on the computer screen. "This is
the same picture that we just saw on the camera. We transfered them
from the camera to the computer with this cable."

Have each child add his/her name to the photograph.

Save individual pictures by child's name and place them in a folder.

Print pictures and add to the Who's Who Board in the classroom entrance
way.
