This is a GRM Moto Islo Trialsmaster. The bike has only 98 miles on it and was bought from a man who owned it from new. The brake lights and turn signals are add-ons, as for the bike was built for trials competitions back in the 70's. GRM stands for Grapevine Racing Motors named after its designer Bill Grapevine. From 1970-1975, there were only 1,575 of these bikes contracted out to be built by the Moto-Islo Motorcycle Company in Mexico. It is a 215cc two stroke engine with a four speed transmission. If you are looking for any information about these bikes contact Rich Wride, richwride@hotmail.com. He has a list of names and contact information for about 20 GRM Trialsmaster owners in the United States.

I finished putting it back together a few days before Mid Ohio where I rode it in the vintage trials competition.

The bike is in really good condition and it looks like it has only been riden on the street or mild trail use, never actually used as a trials bike. The rims were rusted so they were taken off and bead blasted and painted with Silver Duplicolor Steel Wheel Paint. Same with the front fender.

Pictures of when we got it home. This bike must have been sold near the end of the production run since it was fitted with a headlight, tailight, and trail sprocket. The last of GRM Trialsmasters were marketed toward enduro bikes rather than trials.
