We are a people that strives to share the good news of the Gospel outside of our community in a way that is welcoming, engaging, positive, exciting, comfortable and proactive. Our desire to do that grows out of each member's ablility to share with others their own experiences of God's presence in their lives. As part of our desire to be a caring community, we welcome all God's children to participate in the life of this church: to worship, study, fellowship and, ultimately, grow with us. We offer a wealth of opportunities for people from all walks of life, at every stage of life, to help you personally experience the transforming work of God. |
A
community of faith for the 21st century
If you are looking
for a place to grow in Christ and to offer your gifts and talents in building
the Kingdom of God, we invite you to take a closer look at the ministries
and activities offered here at Christ Church.
WORSHIP
In the Episcopal Church it is often said, “We are what we pray.”
We believe that it is in worship that we all come to understand who we are
as children of God in a Christian community. Therefore, we welcome and encourage
worshipers from every tradition to be with us as we seek to give praise and
thanks to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Our manner of worship is based
on the unique and historic tradition of the worldwide Anglican Communion and
is expressed through the rites and services of The Book of Common Prayer.
Everyone is invited to share in the Eucharist or to receive a blessing at
the railing. Both the consecrated bread and wine are offered to all. We also
recognize the importance of welcoming children into our worship services.
However, we are aware that some parents may find it distracting to their worship
experience. Therefore, on Sundays, we offer a nursery for infants and toddlers,
staffed with trained childcare workers from 10:00AM to 11:15PM. At the 10:00AM
service, children aged three to seven are led out of the service during the
Prayer Room Processional, just after the Collect of the Day, to take part
in worship activities geared to their ages. They return to the service to
participate in the Communion of the People.
