I was on ACM Dearborn Masters team in 2005. Local Scores
On Putnam Exam I got 2 and 1 points respectively.
ACM Contest: strategy. (brief)
- find a team
- work and practice with your team when you can, besides practicing by yourself
- drink a keg of beer and join a frat (optional)
- find the easiest problem and solve it first.
- Have two people at the terminal. One coding, other checking for errors and coming up with ideas
- stand up and walk out of the room. Sit down on the floor. Take a deep breath and hold it. Let it go. Go back.
- Solved first problem yet ? Good. Go solve another one.
- This strategy is good for beginning teams to solve 1-3 problems.
