"Human Beings are |responsible objects|, but the fact| conflicts with a determinism view of "human actions".

Solution: Some assumptions should be made.

Case: A man shoots another. We assume that he did this act. He was in charge. No external or internal force caused him in doing what he did. Or he could have done otherwise; He acted from his will. Otherwise he is not responsible for the shooting.

ON FINAL.

Four Possibilities.

1. Determinism.

• I could have done otherwise= If I had chosen to do otherwise, then I would have done (chosen) otherwise. Distilled Holbach.
• But the problem is not "would" but "could".
• Suppose a person is naturally good and does good acts. - Is he responsible?
• In determinism absence of causation (Capricious).
• Agency. A freely performed act is a caused act but by a human agent.

Ex. A staff moves a stone, is moved by a hand, which is moved by a man. Aristotle.

"My" does not exist by Holbach. This is no way to explain what we did except or a force - social.

" The way we act is caused by an ongoing situation of our life.

Another point of vie - Human Nature - freedom.

Responsibility entails freedom.

I am not responsible for my acts unless I was free.

Robot that is broken is fixed.

Children are not responsible- They are punished.

Human beings deal with responsible people -

they are free

Human responsibility is a fact. Determinism denies freedom.

I am free = I [could] have done otherwise!
