2004 MLA Convention in Philadelphia

The MODERN AUSTRIAN LITERATURE AND CULTURE ASSOCIATION, an Allied Organization of the MLA, is seeking proposals for the following two sessions, to be held at the 2004 MLA Convention in Philadelphia:

 

Grillparzer in the Context of 19th-Century Drama.Proposals relating Grillparzer’s œuvre to the theory and practice of German/Austrian tragedy and comedy. Abstracts by 15 March, 2004 to Clifford Bernd (cabernd@ucdavis.edu).

 

Family Ties: Representations of Family in Modern Austrian Literature and Culture. Papers examining representations of family (generational conflicts; family and related issues such as gender, class, and race; the cultural/ideological construction of family, etc.). Abstracts by 15 March, 2004 to Imke Meyer (ixmeyer@brynmawr.edu).
