The Devil's Tower

This is a uniquely interesting site. This large tower of rock just jets up 865 feet high, out of the middle of nowhere (well, there are hills and stuff around, but they aren't really that close or that large). This tower is made up of hundreds of pillars of volcanic rock. It's really neat, because the outer pillars occasionally collapse (by occasionally I mean every couple thousand years), and fall to the ground. So, around the entire base are the remains of these fallen pillars, crumbled to the size of large boulders. The circumference is only a couple of miles, and you can walk all the way around it. The Devils Tower is one of the toughest climbing location, but hundreds or thousands of mountain climbers come here every year to climb it. You can usually see at least 1/2 dozen climbers climbing it, as long as the weather is reasonable. Here is a picture of this wonder.
