Located approximately 30 miles east of Portland, Oregon and with a drop of 621 feet, Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. The waterfall is divided into two sections. The upper falls drop 542 feet, while the lower falls drop 69 feet. There is a stone bridge across the falls between the upper and lower sections.
We arrived late in the evening, not long before sunset. As a result, the upper half of the falls was colored with a beautiful orange glow which made for a beautiful scene. However, the lower half was shrouded in shadow, and unfortunately the contrast between the bright and dark halves made it impossible to get a decent picture of the entire falls.
