Pamela E. Pennock, Ph.D.
Welcome
to my website at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where I am an associate
professor of American history. I
specialize in American history since World War II, and I also teach the second half
of the American history survey (Civil War to the present.) My research
interests are consumerism, public health, and government regulation; my book, Advertising
Sin and Sickness (published 2007), focuses on attempts to control
cigarette and alcohol advertising from the 1950s through the 1990s. I am also a member of the American Studies
faculty, Women and Gender Studies faculty, and Urban and Regional Studies
faculty.
