- Welcome new scouts: Corey, Boyd, Costa

**Is anyone interested in coordinating the Pack’s Scouting for Food drive?

 

1.        Athlete Badge

-          Stretching, curl ups, push ups

-          Discuss progress

-          Decide if you have earned the badge yet

 

2.        Fitness Badge  (starts p. 246 in handbook)

Discuss 1a: “Tell why it is important to be healthy, clean, and fit.”

Discuss 1b: “Tell when it is difficult for you to stick with good health habits. Tell where you can go to be with others who encourage you to be healthy, clean and fit.”

 

Watch video about alcohol, smoking, and drugs.

Discuss #5 (don’t smoke), #6 (don’t drink), #7 (don’t do drugs)

 

#3: Good Nutrition. Discuss Food Pyramid

Split into four small groups and plan a weekly menu. One group will plan breakfasts for seven days; one will plan lunches for 7 days; one will plan dinners; one will plan snacks. Share with the rest of the den what each group planned.   **Need parent assistance!  (may run out of time)

 

HOMEWORK

Fitness Badge #2: make a safety notebook (see p. 247)

Fitness Badge #4: Keep a record of your daily meals and snacks for a week.

Fitness Badge #1c: Practice good health habits while doing the badge.

 

We’ll report back on these requirements at the Nov. den meeting. Once you’ve completed these requirements, you have completed the Fitness badge (one of the three required badges to earn the Webelos badge.)
