Biography
Having a passion for the arts, particularly drawing I decided
to pursue an Associate's degree in Graphic Design at Henry Ford Community College.
While there I gained plenty of experience with the Adobe creative suite. I learned InDesign,
Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and more. I became the first Student lab Assistant in the
Graphic Arts Department computer lab. I wanted to have a variety of skills to offer and decided to develop skills in web design. I learned to build templates for websites,
using Photoshop, lllustrator and even InDesign. I decided to up my skill level and get
certificates in web design and web development. My coursework included HTML and CSS,
along with PHP, Java and MySQL database development.
Upon graduation I decided to
pursue a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to become the first Student Graphic Designer
in the Student Activities office at UM-Dearborn, and eventually I became the Student Website Designer
in the Career Services office. I enrolled in the Bachelors of General Studies Program.
This allowed me to have three areas of focus. The three areas of focus I chose were Business,
Communications and Psychology. I discovered I love to research and write. Having course work
in Social Psychology, really helped me to understand the thinking patterns of myself and others.
Under the business section I decided to focus on marketing. About half way through my marketing coursework, the Digital Marketing Program came to the
University of Michigan-Dearborn. The Digital Marketing program allowed me to build upon a solid
foundation of Digital Design and Web Development. With two courses remaining I am excited about
the possibilities graduation will bring. I look forward to fully implementing and building upon
my skills in all things digital.
