"Not your ordinary Luau! June 7th at the Brewery featuring Dub Consious. It's summertime and that means one thing at Terrapin."

It was never made clear what that "one thing" was that Terrapin does in summer...I guess they have brewaus.

Dubconscious played outside, a limbo contest was planned, and there were Lei's for those who showed up late and a commemorative pint glass for those that showed up early.

Several new beers were unveiled...

Tap List during Brewau
see reviews below

All of the Terrapin crew were in attendance along with a host of volunteers. Thanks goes to all of these people that worked hard in the relentless heat to provide us with music, free bread and water, and yummy beers. Owner, John Cochran, hosted a number of tours of the brewery while Spike, the brewmaster, seemed to be wandering around snapping pictures.

Libations members enjoying the Brewau                     Steel Drum Band
Tyler, Hank, and Thad discuss the heat and wonder why the hell Arlo keeps taking useless pictures. The band playing inside featured steel drums for a uniquely island sound. Dubconcious also played outside.

Nathan and Amy
Libations members Nathan and Amy seemed to have a
great time at the Brewau. They are currently the
only engaged members of the Libations club.

Reviewing the New Terrapin Beers
2006 Oak Aged Rye Squared
This beer was actually on tap already at Trappeze when they "unveiled" it at the brewery. It is a tasty 2008 vintage that has been aged in oak barrels. Read more.
In German, Roggen means Rye and Rauch means smoke. Get ready for a smoked rye something. Not sure what style this was (brown ale, porter...) but the smoke came through nicely without being too over the top. Read more.
Side Project Vol. 2: Roggenrauch
Big Sloppy Monster
The label to the left is not official (I created it). This beer was a batch of 2006 Big Hoppy Monster that was aged in Jack Daniels barrels for 14 months. The result was a complex beer with hop and bourbon notes that played off of each other beatifully. I was nicely surprised by this offering and the Roggenrauch. Read more.
