Chicago, Illinois (The Map Room and Piece Pizza)

This is the view from the back of our conference hotel.
On the first night we got in, we hopped in a cab and took off for the Map Room. I read some reviews that said if you are looking for food, your best bet is to walk down to Piece Pizza and Brewing. That walk was a bit farther than we expected so we opted to eat and drink there and save the Map Room for another night.
The conference was boring, except for this cool ice sculpture.
After a full day of conferencing (i.e., looking at research posters), it was time to head to the Map Room. We still would have to eat first so we stopped by Cafe Laguardia, a rather tasty cuban restaurant right down the street.
The Map Room featured a number of fantastic specials. Too bad it was Friday and not Saturday...I love me some High Life!
